Founder Diary: Ep 1 - On stillness, monsoon, and starting again

Founder Diary: Ep 1 - On stillness, monsoon, and starting again

by Needhi Bharmani, Founder Nerah Skin

There’s something about the monsoon that brings everything to a pause. The light softens. The noise hushes. And for a moment, the world feels like it’s in between breaths.

This season, I’ve found myself sitting with that stillness a lot more questioning, listening, and learning to be okay with not having every answer. As a founder, especially of something as personal as Nerah, you tend to carry the weight of every outcome. Every win, every slow day, every in-between.

Lately, it’s felt... quiet. Sales not rushing in. Engagement a little slow. I’ll be honest: there were days I asked myself, "Is anyone listening?"
But in that pause, something shifted.

I stopped chasing the noise. And started reconnecting with why I started this in the first place.

Nerah was never meant to be loud.

It was meant to be gentle.
Honest.
Softly powerful.
And even if just a few people feel seen and supported through it, that’s enough for today.

What I’m learning this season:

  • Not every phase has to be growth. Some are for grounding.

  • The skin, like life, goes through cycles. Glow isn’t always visible, but that doesn’t mean nothing’s happening beneath the surface.

  • Listening to your audience is powerful. But listening to your intuition is just as vital.

A few things helping me anchor myself right now:

  • Noni Gentle Peeling Gel: I created this to be kind yet clarifying. Using it feels like a mini reset, both for skin and for me.

  • Long walks after rain. No podcasts. No agenda. Just breath and quiet.

  • Reading the kindest reviews from people who say “Nerah helped me feel seen.” That’s the real why.

If you’re reading this and running something of your own, or even just trying to take care of yourself better you’re not alone. Progress isn’t always loud. Healing isn’t always pretty. But both are still real.

Thank you for being part of this journey. Whether you’re a customer, a cheerleader, or someone quietly watching from afar you matter. And I’m so glad you’re here.
